Meet Jaquan
In 2017, I graduated from Dean College as a student-athlete, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management. Following my departure from Dean College, I enrolled at Southern New Hampshire University, where I obtained my Master's Degree in Sports Management. Since graduating, I have been involved in community outreach programs, mentoring students in the MetroWest area, and representing professional athletes overseas.
The purpose of this program is to cater to the needs of our youth through sports in multiple communities. I have spent the last 3 years training and mentoring kids and young adults in different cities, learning how they feel about school, athletics, and even life at home. That alone showed me how much more beneficial our non-profit will be! Offering a safe space for kids to exhale when they feel overwhelmed and role models that can relate to them, and show them it's okay to express yourself through any emotion, as it’s the key to their future!
Part of my foundation is called "Protect The Youth". It's an annual back-to-school basketball tournament for high school kids, free of charge. These past few summers I was able to host these tournaments and raise money to give back to our youth for their upcoming school years. Franklin, Bellingham, Marlborough, Worcester, and Rhode Island were the first batch of cities I was able to get in tune with.
Eventually, my goal is to open a facility that they can all call home, a home that has everything they need to be successful.
